Clara's First 2 Weeks

I can't believe our tiny precious girl is 2 weeks old already. I am trying to treasure every moment, as I know they are fleeting.

First, we got to leave the hospital after 48 hours. Here's me with our new precious bundle, waiting for the doctor to give us the go-ahead to leave.

The 3 of us, with our balloons and flowers from our relatives

Clara's ready to go!

First time in her carseat - she's so tiny compared to Fin! We had to move the straps back to their lowest position - hard to believe Fin was ever this small!

Then we were home! We drove up to a decorated house and yard, with a bunch of pink streamers and balloons, with signs declaring "It's a Girl!" My sisters had apparently come the night before to make our homecoming memorable - very sweet!

Clara got to see her nursery for the first time - she liked it! :)

Trying out her changing pad - very soft, Mommy and Daddy!

Proud Daddy, relaxing at home with tiny girl

She was very comfortable with her new home - she caught some snoozes against Mommy's chest

Then my mom brought Fin home - here he is checking out his new sister at his house

Our family - home together

Clara also got to try out her new crib - she loved the swaddle, as did Fin

Then is was time for goodnight kisses with Daddy

And she's out

The next day, we headed in for her first doctor's appointment - I couldn't resist getting her all dressed up - thank you Uncle Carrot for the darling shawl and hat

Dr. Dunbrasky (the owner of the clinic where I practice) is her doctor and said she looks perfect!

Back home, it was time for more cuddles with Daddy

And Mommy!

Finny was not to be left out - I love this picture of Dru with both his babies

The next day brought our first guests - dear family friends of ours, Marilyn, Elaine, Destiny, Haleigh, stopped by bearing gifts and yummy carrot cake muffins

The four kiddos

Elaine loved our little girl

As did Marilyn - and Clara was just happy for all the cuddles

After they left, Clara ate and this is her "I'm Full" look - very cute

Then she was wide awake - look at those cheeks!

Ahhh...sacked out again on Mommy's lap

Then, for Clara's first weekend, we headed over to my mom and dad's for hunting weekend - it was opening pheasant season and middle of deer season - Dru and the other son-in-laws wanted to hunt with my dad on my parent's property. Clara and Fin enjoyed their weekend outing and Nana and Poppy's!

Nana cuddling her newest grandchild

Fin was devastated when the men left to go hunting and he didn't get to go (he even had his camo shirt on, darnit!) so I took him on a walk around the farm

"Look, Mom! A rock! Woot woot!"

Not too sure about the cows

He wouldn't get any closer than this for awhile

Then all the cousins (minus Clara) went out to feed the horses with Aunt Chelsea

Fin really wanted the apples for himself

Nice horsie

Clara enjoyed the weekend, lounging around on various laps

And some cuddle time with Daddy - she just stares and stares at him - it's so darling

With cousin Callia, who's such a good big cousin

This is what Clara does most of the time - sleeps. She's such a calm baby!

Fin went out with Poppy the next day

And this time he got much closer to the cows!

What a fun weekend!

This week has been a little less activity, which is good for this tired Mommy of two! Here are a bunch of random pictures of little Clara over the past week

Two sleepy heads

Tummy time! She can almost lift her head!

Propped up on Fin's puppy

Her favorite pose

Funny face

She also went for her first walk outside!

This was her take on all the excitement of walking outdoors....zzzzzz......

Our friend, Anna, came to visit, bearing adorable little tie-dyed onesies. Clara seemed to like her, too! :)

And finally, a precious video of Fin playing peek-a-boo with his baby. He is so good with her - he gently strokes the top of her head and calls her "baby!" He has yet to hit her or act aggressively towards her, for which I am thankful!
